Suraj Bhattarai(38) is from Thimphu, Bhutan. He has directed several short films which have been screened at reputed festivals like the Kassel Dokfest, Busan, and the Dharamshala International Film Festival. He is the associate producer of the feature-length documentary film, Agent of Happiness (Sundance Film Festival). He is a graduate of Doc Nomads, a joint Master’s in Documentary Film Directing. His current project, Sound of Chewing Leaves (director/producer), has won the IDFA research and development grant and was selected to be a part of the LA Global Media Maker residency program, Docedge Kolkata, Kathmandu Doc Lab, and the IDFA Academy.
