Film Independent Members, you and a guest are invited to watch All That’s Left of You in the Film Independent Presents Online Screening Room, powered by Vision Media. A pre-recorded conversation with writer/director/producer Cherien Dabis moderated by Angela Lee (Director of Artist Development, Film Independent) is included as part of this screening experience.

Cherien Dabis is a Film Independent Fellow (2005 Directing Lab and Fast Track), a grant recipient, and a 2010 Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominee (Best First Screenplay, Amreeka).

In the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, a Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life. Reeling from its aftermath, his mother, Hanan, shares the story that led them to that fateful moment. Spanning seven decades, this epic drama traces the hopes and heartaches of one uprooted family, revealing not only the scars of displacement, but the unbreakable spirit of survival.

From Watermelon Pictures and Visibility FIlms, All That’s Left of You is Jordan’s official submission for the International Feature Film category at the 2026 Academy Awards. The film will be released on December 5.
