Programmers’ Picks: Selegna Sol
Arts Circle, Film Lover, Secret (shhh…) Members and Fellows (with an active Membership), you and a guest are invited to Programmers’ Picks. Make sure to take advantage of your exclusive priority registration window for Programmers’ Picks events, after which all Film Independent Members will have the opportunity to register.
Join us for this online screening of Selegna Sol, followed by a pre-recorded conversation with writer/director Anouk Moyaux moderated by Kate Mason (Programmer, Film Independent).
Please note: This screening is only available to Film Independent Members located in the United States.
After several years’ absence, Gibran, a 37-year-old Mexican-American, returns to Los Angeles with the goal of saving up to purchase land in Tecate, the village in Mexico where he was born. As he organizes his departure, he rediscovers the emotional and historical ties that bind him to the United States.
From Manifest, Selegna Sol premiered at the 2025 Cinéma du réel in Paris, where it won the Prix du premier film Loridan-Ivens Award.
Registration will open to all Film Independent Members on June 18.
