Introducing the LA Muse screening series presented by Ashby & Graff Real Estate
Inspired by one of the most popular sections of the Los Angeles Film Festival, this series will spotlight four unique and diverse films that reflect the many facets of Los Angeles, featuring LA-based filmmakers and stories rooted in the city. Celebrated for palm trees, sunsets and stardom, Los Angeles is, at its core, a complex intersection of lives and experiences. Filmmakers are endlessly inspired by its deep, cinematic past and the rich, vibrant tapestry of its present. Join us as we dive into these incredible stories inspired by the City of Angels.

After the success of Point Blank and Deliverance, Warner Brothers offered John Boorman the opportunity of a lifetime… the chance to direct a sequel to their smash hit, The Exorcist. The result was one of the biggest disasters in movie history. A critical and financial failure that not only changed how Hollywood did business, but nearly ended Boorman’s filmmaking career. But to be an artist is to be a risk-taker. Now, John Boorman, Linda Blair, Louise Fletcher, Karyn Kusama, Mike Flanagan, and more reflect on the ambition of the film, the artistry and craft, and the value of big creative swings.

From Yellow Veil Pictures, Boorman and the Devil premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival. The film releases at the Quad in New York on Friday, August 28.
