The Importance of Being Insured: Protecting Your Project

“What do you mean my finished film still needs insurance?”

As a creative producer, completing your film and navigating the complex landscape of distribution comes with a mix of emotions. You’re riding the high of an upcoming premiere, yet there’s still much to be done – and plenty of stress. At distribution meetings, suddenly you’re asked if you have insurance, and might think to yourself… why do I need that?

Errors & Omissions Insurance (E&O for short) covers your film from lawsuits alleging unauthorized use of titles, formats, ideas, characters, plagiarism and more. A claim against a finished film can be costly and having E&O insurance helps ensure your creative work is protected. Alyson Locacciato from Front Row Insurance will discuss the importance of E&O insurance coverage, how it can help protect your film, and what is required by festivals and distributors before your film can be seen by an audience.
