Writers Salon: Adaptation
Film Independent is pleased to announce the return of our program for working writers. Film Independent’s Writers Salon brings together some of today’s top screenwriters to talk about a specific aspect of the craft in an intimate setting. This session’s topic will be adaptation, both of fiction and history.
The conversation will be moderated by acclaimed screenwriter/director Jane Anderson whose credits include the adaptations of The Wife, How to Make an American Quilt and Olive Kitteridge, for which she received the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series.
Confirmed panelists include:
Phyllis Nagy (writer, Carol; writer/director, Mrs. Harris)
Billy Ray (writer, Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games; writer/director, Secret in Their Eyes, Shattered Glass)
John Ridley (writer, 12 Years a Slave; writer/director, Jimi: All Is By My Side, American Crime)
The evening will begin with a tea and dessert reception for all attendees.
