Episodic Directing Intensive

The Episodic Directing Intensive is a three-day program that prepares its participants for a career in episodic directing through conversations with veteran directors, showrunners and executives to discuss the ins and outs of directing scripted episodic content. Six directors, whose work embodies the diversity, innovation and uniqueness we nurture and champion at Film Independent, will be selected.

In addition to gaining a greater understanding of what it takes to land their first episode and build a successful career in directing television, individuals accepted into the Episodic Directing Intensive are Film Independent Fellows and receive year-round support, including access to all our Grants and Awards.

Who Can Apply?

The program is designed for directors who have already established a foundation in their careers but are seeking to transition into the scripted episodic space. Directors who have demonstrated a commitment to the art and craft of directing through their body of work will be considered. Ideal candidates are those who have honed their directorial skills and artistic vision through experience, including directing short films, feature films or commercial projects.
