Logline

On the eve of moving in with his girlfriend, a closeted Charlie escapes to an anonymous cam site, but when a faceless stranger threatens to erase his identity, reality starts to glitch.

Synopsis

Charlie has not loved himself in a while. The closeted 24-year-old spends his nights in a dimly lit apartment compulsively clicking through faceless chat rooms, isolating himself from his already touch-starved girlfriend – and soon-to-be roommate. When Charlie rejects one final opportunity to reveal himself to the strangers on his screen, he lands himself in a nightmarish limbo of paranoid proportions. Haunted by missed calls, warped connections, and an unsettling presence lurking in the shadows, Charlie must navigate layers of self-hatred and familial expectations to answer the question: Is staying hidden really the safest way to exist?

Meet the Filmmakers

Matthew Lynn — Director/Cinematographer
Matthew Lynn is an LA-based director and cinematographer. Beyond worldwide theatrical release, his work has been played at SXSW (2023 Audience Choice Winner), Cannes, Tribeca, TIFF, Frameline, Outfest and more while also receiving both Gotham and Queerty award nominations. After attending the American Film Institute Conservatory’s MFA program, Matthew traveled around the world with projects including feature films, documentaries, music videos, series, and national commercials and has created original shows for Discovery Networks, Q-Digital and Dekkoo. He has also served as the cinematographer for work with QC Entertainment, NEON, Cadillac, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Lush Cosmetics, and The Tannenbuam Group. Lynn is repped by Zero Gravity Management.

Michael Pisaturo — Writer
Michael Pisaturo is a queer, Boston-based screenwriter and published playwright. His plays have been produced at Florida State University, Manhattan Repertory Theatre, the Q Collective, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 38th Annual William Inge Theater Festival New Play Lab, and Samuel French Off Off-Broadway Short Play Festival. His play Paper Planes was selected as a national finalist for the Gary Garrison Ten Minute Play Award at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, and his short No Faces has been a finalist at the Austin Horror Film Festival, Midwest WeirdFest, and GenreBlast Film Fest. He has been granted fellowships through the Kennedy Center Playwriting and Dramaturgy Intensives and is an Associate Member of the Dramatists Guild of America. Currently, Pisaturo is developing his feature “Creases” with Lola Pop Media producer Giovanni Digiacomo.
