Meet the Filmmakers

Wendi Tang — Filmmaker
Wendi Tang is a Chinese filmmaker based in Los Angeles, dedicated to character-driven stories that offer diverse, global perspectives. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Stern School of Business dual-degree program, Wendi’s work has been showcased at internationally renowned festivals such as SITGES, SXSW, deadCenter FF, St. Louis IFF, Izmir, HollyShorts, and more. Her short film “Fishtank” is the Tribeca Chanel THL Women Filmmaker’s Program Winner and won Best Short Film at SXSW Sydney, AAPI Award at HollyShorts, and Best Narrative Short Film at CinemaShort.

She’s a Sundance Institute Cultural Impact Fellow, NYC Women’s Fund recipient, SFFILM Rainin Grant finalist, ZFF Academy participant, and a BAFTA member. She is currently developing her debut feature film.
