Logline

A Nigerian-born musician is invited to join a chart-topping hip hop group reeling from the unexpected death of their frontman—unaware he’s being tested as a replacement, and that someone may be hiding the truth about what really happened.

Synopsis

The Orphanage serves as the proof-of-concept for a half-hour television drama about Gozie, a young Nigerian-born musician invited to join a legendary hip-hop collective after the loss of their charismatic frontman.

Tasked with helping the group finish their long-delayed fourth album, Gozie enters their Malibu home—only to discover he’s not just joining a band, he’s stepping into a family full of grief, ego, and unfinished business.

Set in Los Angeles, the series blends the raw energy of hip-hop with the emotional weight of prestige drama. It’s a story about found family, music’s healing power, and the fight to stand out in today’s oversaturated attention economy.
