Bio

Rachel Lauren Mueller is an award-winning documentary director and cinematographer whose stories focus on themes of identity and rural life. With her background in anthropology and investigative journalism, her films interrogate power structures while embracing expansive imagination. Mueller’s work has been featured on Al Jazeera Arabic, The New York Times and PBS and has earned honors from the Dart Center for Excellence in Coverage of Trauma and Livingston Awards. Supporters of her work include Ford Foundation, Rogovy Foundation, IDA, IF/Then Shorts, UnionDocs and Berkeley FILM Foundation. The Quiet Part is her first independent feature documentary.
