Produced by Film Independent and presented in partnership with KCRW and official host The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), The New Wave is a showcase of films, conversations and performances from cultural change makers.

Storytellers, interdisciplinary artists, and community and industry leaders will come together at MOCA Grand and MOCA Geffen to share bold and dynamic visions of inclusion, independence and innovation. This October, experience a weekend full of inspiration for artists and audiences alike.

The New Wave program will consist of several different types of events, including keynotes; conversations; panel discussions and spotlight programming, all of which were announced on Friday, October 4. Screenings, KCRW music programming and community events were announced Tuesday, October 8.

Venues & Parking

Two venues, multiple parking options and shuttles to get you where you need to go. Here’s the must-know info for getting to (and getting around) The New Wave.

Shuttle Service

Free shuttles will be provided to transport attendees back and forth between our two venues; MOCA Grand and MOCA Geffen (info below). Shuttles will run every 30 minutes during the following days/times:

Saturday – 10:00 am to 11:30 pm
Sunday – 11:00 am to 9:30 pm

Pick up and drop off points will be clearly marked with Film Independent signage.

MOCA Grand Avenue

(250 South Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012)

Parking Options

Walt Disney Concert Hall (111 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012)
$9.00 with MOCA validation. Entrance to the Walt Disney Concert Hall’s parking garage is on 2nd Street between Grand Avenue and Hope Street.

California Plaza (351 S. Olive St., Los Angeles, CA 90013)
MOCA members: $7.50 with MOCA validation. General admission: weekends and evenings $11.50, weekday rates vary with a $40.50 daily max. Visitors can enter from Olive St. or Lower Grand, between Kosciuszko Way and 4th St., near the Omni Hotel. Entrances are marked 1 CAL and 2 CAL; either entrance can be used.

The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA

$9.00 flat rate on weekdays. $7.00 flat rate on weekends and after 4:00 pm on weekdays.
