The 2015 Film Independent Forum By the Numbers

We’re less than a month away from the 2015 Film Independent Forum, our three-day, can’t-miss event for filmmakers looking to mix and mingle with leaders in the industry. From October 23-25, Film Independent will take over ground floor of the DGA building with an incredible lineup of speakers, panelists, and screenings. Here’s a look at the Film Independent Forum by the numbers.

40+ Speakers and Panelists
We’re bringing in leaders from every corner of the film and television world. Among them are Jason Blum, President and CEO of Blumhouse Productions, Bridget Bedard, writer for Mad Men and Transparent, and Josh Braun, Co-President of Submarine Entertainment. And that number is still growing. Keep checking back as we add even more names to the list.

70 Lunch Hosts
Did we mention the lunch is provided? Not only is there a catered lunch on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, the lunch hour also gives Forum participants the opportunity to sit down and engage with panelists they just heard speak moments before. A full list of hosts will be announced soon so be sure to keep an eye out for who you want at your table.

26 Indielink Leaders
Each afternoon during the Forum, our Indielink sessions provide filmmakers the chance to meet one-on-one with industry experts. This year’s list of participants includes representatives from ICM, Broad Green Pictures, and the Sundance Film Festival. It’s an opportunity you won’t get anywhere else.

14 Panel Discussions
Breaking the Gates: Artists in Control. Conquering the Web: One Episode at a Time. Ten F#@*ups and How to Fix Them. These are just a few of the eye-opening panel discussions we’re offering this year. Panels will cover topics ranging from what makes a film viable in the marketplace to how to break into a television writer’s room.

3 Receptions
Some of the most important connections forged at the Forum happen between the filmmakers in attendance. Each night, Singani63, Bozeman Spirits and Angel City Brewery will be providing the drinks to make those connections even easier.

1 Screening with a Q&A
As always, the Film Independent Forum kicks off with an opening night film. In recent years, the Forum has given LA audiences their first look at Nightcrawler, Dallas Buyers Club, and Silver Lining’s Playbook. Members of the creative team will be onhand to answer your questions and even chat over drinks at the reception afterward. This year’s screening has yet to be announced, but we promise it’s a film you won’t want to miss.

0 Dollars to Park
Forum attendees park for free in the DGA Garage. Phew!

300+ Potential New Contacts
Combine the numbers above with the number of attendees and that’s 300+ reasons why you should attend the 2015 Film Independent Forum. Get your passes today.
