Dolby Institute Fellowship
In partnership with Film Independent, The Dolby Institute will award an internationally-based Film Independent Fellow the Dolby Institute Fellowship – a direct post-production grant enabling the film to utilize the ultra-vivid color of Dolby Vision and the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos (valued at U.S. $50,000).
Since 2014, The Dolby Institute Fellowship has given independent filmmakers access to Dolby’s innovative tools and technologies, enabling them to fully realize their creative vision. Past independent projects supported by The Dolby Institute Fellowship include The Pod Generation, Nanny, Passing, Swiss Army Man, Nine Days, Honey Boy, Mudbound, and other successful films.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be a current or past Film Independent Fellow who is working on an international film in the role of director, producer, DP and/or editor.
Applicants must have a feature film (fiction or documentary) in post-production. The film’s narrative must be set outside the United States. It need not be a Film Independent or Global Media Makers-supported project. Shorts will not be considered.
While a producer, DP and/or editor can be the applicant, the Dolby Institute Fellowship award will be granted to the director of the film.
Productions will need to have access to Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos facilities in the territory where they are working on post-production. The grant does not provide funds for travel.
