Bio

Lauren is an aspiring filmmaker born and raised in New York. Both of her parents were professional musicians, and Lauren’s childhood summers were spent touring Europe with her father Mal, an expatriate jazz pianist. She received a B.A. in Media Arts from New York’s School of Visual Arts and worked as a freelance illustrator before moving on to film production. Initially interested in film editing, she found her niche as a script supervisor and has worked for 12+ years on commercials, shorts and independent films with directors such as Tony Kaye and Steven Shainberg. She later found work reading scripts and researching stories at Propaganda Films in Los Angeles.

Lauren was a finalist for the Sundance Filmmakers Lab in 2003 and quarterfinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship in 2001 and 2002. She is currently finishing another feature screenplay and plans to direct a short in the coming year.
