Bio

Marah Amberlyn Strauch has directed over a dozen short films, many of which toured the festival circuit and were shown in galleries nationwide. Some titles include NU, Ghoul of My Dreams, Avenue C, and Free Form, a short musical performance doc about experimental jazz musician Anthony Braxton. Strauch has been writing, researching, developing, and shooting the film Gravity for over four years. She recently completed restoration of the entire catalogue of Carl Boenish’s pre-BASE jumping skydive films.

Strauch is also a well-respected commercial and documentary editor/producer. Most recently, Strauch edited a national campaign for American Express for the Momentum agency. The campaign ran during the US Open and featured documentary-style portraits of well-known tennis players including Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and John McEnroe.

Strauch graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a dual degree in film and glass art. After graduating from RISD, Strauch moved to New York City where she studied filmmaking and screenwriting at NYU and The New School. Strauch recently was accepted to and attended Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School.
