Bio

Riad Galayini is a Film Independent Project Involve and a 2005 Directors Lab Fellow. She is the producer-director of three award winning short films including Nude Descending (Taos Talking Pictures’ George Melies Award; official selection of Universal Studios and American Cinematheque’s Directors Series). She produced the festival favorite, Parking, directed by James Morrison (Slamdance – Audience Award; Florida Film Festival, 3rd Place Narrative; official selection of New York Film Festival’s New Directors/New Films Series, South by Southwest and more than 25 film festivals worldwide.) Parking aired on the Sundance Channel for 18 months. Her short film, Crossing, which she produced and directed, was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2006 Chicks with Flicks Film Festival NYC; Best Story, Big Mountain Film Festival New Zealand; Second Place Best Narrative, Urban Mediamakers; Best Fiction Film, New York Short Film Festival; Second Place, Johnstown Film Festival; Best Screenplay, San Francisco Short Film Festival; and Best Direction at the Festival Du Cinema de Paris.

As an actor she has worked with directors Steven Spielberg, Sam Mendes, and Ridley Scott. She has performed at regional theaters, including the Mark Taper Forum and the Salt Lake Acting Company.

She has directed television commercials and plays for the Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Stella Adler, The Hudson and The Tiffany theaters.

She is developing two feature films, The Last Nail and Far Across Yonder (FIND Directors Lab; IFP Market Emerging Narrative Award Finalist; Script Pimp Competition Finalist; Winner Century City Screenplay Competition) written by her producing partner, James Morrison.

She recently completed producing and directing the documentary, Showing Up, A Conversation About The Audition, whose cast includes, Nathan Lane, Sam Rockwell, Lois Smith and Kristin Chenoweth.
