Crafting a Marketing and Distribution Plan

Your film is finished… you’re applying to festivals… time to think about your marketing plan, right? Well, if you’re starting to think about marketing and distribution at this point, you’re too late. The best marketing plans begin long before production and continue to evolve as the project moves forward.

Film Independent is pleased to welcome distribution expert Jon Reiss who will explain the steps you must take when crafting a successful marketing and distribution plan for your indie film. Topics covered will include: setting goals early (“Is a theatrical release essential, or even realistic?”); identifying your audience early and establishing ways of connecting with them; branding your film and yourself; choosing the best strategy for your launch—festivals vs. direct to VOD; and how to ensure you can make the best film possible.
